Killing Palestinian Children and Destructing Schools are Crimes that Demand Deterrence and Punishment

نددت وزارة التربية والتعليم بالجرائم التي يقترفها الاحتلال بحق التعليم في قطاع غزة جراء عدوانه المتواصل لليوم الخامس على التوالي.

وأشارت "التربية" إلى أن قتل مئات الأطفال، وأغلبهم من طلبة المدارس، بالإضافة إلى الكوادر التدريسية، جرائم تستوجب الردع والعقاب والمحاسبة.

وأوضحت الوزارة أن جيش الاحتلال دمّر وتسبب بالحاق الضرر في العديد من المدارس التابعة للوزارة ولوكالة الغوث الدولية ( الأونروا)، والمنشآت والمرافق التعليمية.

وأكدت "التربية" أن استهداف قطاع التعليم في غزة يشكل مخالفة وخرقاً واضحاً لمنظومة القوانين والاتفاقيات والأعراف الدولية، وفي مقدمتها اتفاقية جنيف، واتفاقية حقوق الطفل، والعهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية، والقانون الدولي الإنساني.

وطالبت الوزارة المنظمات الحقوقية والدولية والمدافعة عن الحق في التعليم، والشركاء الدوليين، باتخاذ موقف حاسم وجدي تجاه ما يتعرض له التعليم في قطاع غزة، والجرائم المتواصلة بحق الأطفال وفق ما توثقه وسائل الإعلام من مشاهد تقشعر لها الأبدان وتكشف عن الوجه  القبيح للاحتلال واستهدافه للمدنيين العزل والأبرياء والأطفال وطلبة المدارس.

وفي هذا السياق، فإن الوزارة لن تدخر جهداً في سبيل فضح هذه الانتهاكات، وتوظيف القنوات السياسية والدبلوماسية والإعلامية؛ لوضع حد لهذه الانتهاكات ولجمها.

The Palestinian Ministry of Education condemns with the strongest terms the crimes committed by the Israeli Occupation against children and the education sector in Gaza, in its ongoing offensive for the fifth consecutive day.
Hundreds of children, predominantly school students, in addition to a number of teachers and education staff were targeted and killed by the Israeli Occupation. This constitutes a war crime that demands both deterrence and punishment. In addition, Israeli warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes targeting various schools and education facilities affiliated with the Ministry of Education, as well as UNRWA, resulting in significant damage and destruction in these facilities.
Deliberately targeting the education sector in Gaza constitutes a clear violation of international laws, agreements and established norms, especially the Geneva Convention, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and International Humanitarian Law.
The bone-chilling scenes broadcast by media outlets reveal the ugly face of the occupation and its targeting of defenseless and innocent civilians, children and school students. In this context, the Ministry of Education calls on international and legal organizations defending the right to education, and all international partners, to take a serious stance regarding the continuous crimes against education and children in Gaza. The Ministry of Education will spare no effort to expose these violations and employ political, diplomatic and media channels to put an end to them and prevent their recurrence.
